If You Ain't Got No Money, Take Your Broke Ass Home.

Any music masher that can combine Ludacris' lyrics over a medley that ranges from Earth, Wind & Fire's "September" to The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" deserves a medal in my book.

Proudly sitting in my #2 spot for best albums of 2008, Girl Talk's  Feed The Animals is still on heavy rotation. And in these times of economic woes, corporate layoffs and general grimness, somehow track #10, "In Step", seems to be the rallying cry for 2009.

Over a glorious trip down musical memory lane that kicks off with- of all things- a healthy dose of Roy Orbison, DJ Gregg Gillis (aka Girl Talk) creates a whole new song that tugs and pulls at our desire to have fun, live high on the hog, and our need to stay "In Step". Because, in this of all years, when the clock strikes midnight,  "if you ain't got no money, take your broke ass home!"

Even if you think that you are far too old or staid to use a beer bottle as a microphone and dance around like a mad man in a mosh pit, I beg you to reconsider. It just might be the perfect way to burn off a whole heapful of economic stress. You see, in the world of Girl Talk, having fun is still ahead by a hair!
