My ultimate guilty pleasure Gossip Girl ended last night with a bang...Chuck in a grieving heap practically weeping in Blair's lap and Rufus confronting Lily with the news that he knows she was pregnant with his child years ago.
Wow!
Cue The National's "Slow Show", perhaps my favorite song from The MusicFile's 2007 album of the year; a song that provides a rare and intimate glimpse into men's desires, loves and hidden fears. It has a beautiful Leonard Cohen meets Springsteen vibe and a gut wrenching ending.
For a week I have been asking myself if there is an album from 2008 that can even hold a candle to this one. The answer is yes but until all is revealed, how serendipitous for me to take a break, put my feet up, and get to hear this song on Primetime TV last night!
