Shoegazing My Way Into A Friday Afternoon.
One of our favorite tracks of 2009 comes from the sophomore album of Norway's I Was A King. Can't stop listening to it. It's like Teenage FanClub, My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain got together and co-wrote one highly accessible kick ass song.
The shoegaze movement started in Great Britain in the mid 1980's and continues to influence countless bands today. It was so named for the almost motionless style of live playing which allowed a wall of guitar sound and distortion to take center stage while bands members appeared so detached and introspective they appeared to be gazing at their shoes.
