Dusty Groove featuring Jd73

Ten Years of Dusty Groooves!

Good Lord, there's just not enough funk in the world. Particularly, the afro-funky-brass-jazz kind.

So it's always a sunny day when The New Mastersounds release a record, which they did yesterday. The sixth studio album from the Leeds, England based foursome (nostalgically titled Ten Years On) showcases exactly what Eddie Roberts and gang have been doing so well for the past 10 years-keeping alive a genre of music that coaxes out my deeply buried soul and DEMANDS that I get up and move my sorry ass.

See them live and you will be transported to another time and place!  It's  a non stop party and the music is all live and all real. No loops, or pre-recorded anything. They just play. Sometimes all night long! They are the closest thing to a modern day version of The JB's (James Brown's old backing band) that you will hear today.

In addition to paying Bowery Ballroom in NYC this Saturday night, they are playing 8 other shows across the south before they head to Europe and then Japan:Tour Schedule.

And if you REALLY like this kind of music, head to the inner swampland of Florida on November 11-13th for Bear Creek Music Festival where you can hear The New Mastersounds and more than 50 others bands!
