Hand Me Down My Light Saber Please!
While half of Austin was fighting for a patch of muddy grass and slow groovin to "Dancing Nancies" by Dave Matthews at Saturday night's headlining performance at Austin City Limits, we decided to zig while everyone else zagged and take in Austin's home town dance heroes Ghostland Observatory. The crowd for Ghostland was far more enormous than we would have expected but boy, did we make the right call.
Not only did the duo of Thomas and Aaron wow the crowd with a killer laser light show (made only more surreal by the drops of rain splintering the lights), but they had the entire crowd dancing their butts off for a full hour and a half.
When they brought the UT Longhorn Marching Band on stage for "The Band Marches On", the hook 'em horns crowd went bananas. Here's a previous version of this spectacle from 2008:
As soon as I can get a picture up of Thomas' ultra cool LED lit cross cape, you shall have it too! In the meantime, I am sorry to have to rock your world on a Sunday morning, but I must!
