Light In Your Eyes

Losing My Religion On A Sunday Afternoon...

I've been listening quite a lot to the soon-to-be-released Clarence Bucaro album that he recorded back in 2005 in New Orleans with Anders Osborne. The album was so personal for Bucaro that he abandoned the project just after the tracks were recorded- hence the long delay in it's release.

The album comes out on 10/13/09  on Hyena Records and it's worth tracking down. It's a record that manages to feel deeply peersonal, soulful and uniquely American; with 29 year old Bucaro's voice sounding like the perfect cross between Ben Harper and Brett Dennen. There is absolutely nothing indie or cutting edge about it...and isn't that nice for a change?

This opening track is tinged with a bluesy, gospel feel complete with harmonica, organ, and a backing chorus-just perfect for losing my religion on a Sunday afternoon.
