It's Lollapalooza Week!
As we head into Lollapalooza this coming weekend in Chicago (8/7-8/9), we'll be profiling some of the best 'under the radar' bands playing at this year's festival. No matter if you aren't going- this is just great music to check out.
People still tend to think of Lollapalooza as a super young, indie rock event but it's got world class talent across a wide spectrum of music.
We kick Monday off with Federico Aubele, an Argentine singer/song-writer who hooked up with Thievery Corporation's label and production team in 2003 and has released three of the best Pan American albums you'll ever here. It's subtle to the point of brilliance and includes touches of reggae, trip hop, lounge, spanish, mexican, tango, bolero. Aubele resides in Barcelona but still spends quite a bit of time in his native Buenos Aires. This track, "En Cada Lugar", is about seeing the memories of a past love in all the little places of B.A.
One of the hottest shows of Lollapalooza weekend will be Federico with Thievery Corporation at House Of Blues Thursday night 8/6. I am sick that I don't get in town in time for this one but plan to catch him Saturday at 1:30 on the Playstation Stage.
