We're Singing In The Rain, Just Singing In The Rain!
We are headed to the All Points West Music Festival today in beautiful Liberty State Park- overlooking the New York Harbor, The Statue Of Liberty and Ellis Island.
'Cept it's raining. Pretty hard. And the "park" is rumored to be a muddy mosh pit. What to do?
Head out to find some Wellingtons and buck up because today's lineup is pretty impressive- and diverse. From Mogwai to Coldplay to The Black Keys to Lykke Li to MGMT to Echo & The Bunneymen. Whoa!
But one of the bands I am most excited to see is none of the above; it's Manchester, England's Elbow, winner of 2008's coveted Mercury Prize. Sounding at times like a more prog Coldplay (or in the case of this song, a slighlty less tongue in cheek MGMT meets The Black Keys), they are one of those bands I have been meaning to spend some time with for a few years. Today, I shall get my chance. It might be in the pouring down rain but it will happen! "What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again!"
