Mrs. Cold

With Love From Bergen.

Fans of  Bergen, Norway's Kings of Convenience have waited five long years for the band's 3rd release. That's an eternity in music parlance but KOC are that rare duo who inspire devotion rather than impatience. We now have confirmation from Virgin that the record, entitled Declaration of Dependence, will be released in the States on October 20th, 2009... but it was frontman Erlend Oye who first announced it's completion with a postcard to fans on the band's website.

While Oye and Eirik Boe have both been busy with side projects (The Whitest Boy Alive and Kommode, respectively), fans-including this one- have waited things out while learning to dance a little to the remixes and side projects. In fact, a slightly more upbeat sound is already in evidence from this, the first single off of the new album.

While fall feels like the perfect time for a new KOC record with it's leaves swirling in the breeze feel, I am perfectly happy to have this song on heavy rotation in the dead heat of summer.

Enjoy!
