House Of Diamonds

Bowerbirds are a trio from Raleigh, North Carolina whose second album Upper Air was released this week. It's a gorgeous, exhilarating treasure from start to finish and one that is sure to put them up in the ranks of similar highly regarded kindred spirits like Bonny Prince Billy, Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver.

Yes, it's got that "go to the woods" hint of appalachia but instead of burrowing it's head in the gritty earth, the sound literally soars. Upper Air could not be a more aptly chosen title.

The lead off track is one that has hit me right over the head with a timely message- reminding me that no matter how well (or ineptly) you try, you cannot help people with problems they don't want to see.
