Your Summer Soundtrack Is Almost Baked.
If you've been missing Belle & Sebastian or live in constant worry that the rumors of their dissolution might be true, then you have a nice summer treat finally coming your way. Stuart Murdoch's latest project is a "story set to music" which will unfold online over the coming months via blogs, videos and of course the songs, which Murdoch has been working on for the past five years. The final product will ultimately become a film, to be shot in 2010.
It's all a bit ass backward as I am not sure what the story IS or why God needs to help this girl but I am quite taken with the songs that I have heard and the lovely lilting voice of Irish newcomer Catherine Ireton. (Think a modern day British version of Grease set to Northern soul). It could all be nauseatingly twee in the hands of anyone less talented than Murdoch.
The full basket of musical treats will be fully baked and released on 6/23, just in time for your 4th of July picnic. Chill the Lemondade!
