Porcupine Pricks In All The Right Places!
Tim Easton's 5th studio album Porcupine was released yesterday and oh man, is it good. Not since his 1998 debut album Special 20 has Easton slanted his style more towards the rock than the roll. Less folky/alt country and more blues/rock, it kicks butt in all the right places while still leaving room for Easton's trademark sexy gravel of a love lorn voice.
The MusicFile has long been a supporter of this under-recognized songwriter and it's nice to see him back in form. This track is trademark Easton-slide guitar, harmonica and a western blues vibe that immediately makes me want to be in a hot, dusty bar somewhere far out west drinking a Corona on a lazy afternoon. Easton is that kind of artist. The kind whose music transports you.
If you are a fan, Easton is releasing 500 limited edition vinyl versions of the album;each one with original art work painted by Tim. They are suitable for framing!
He's on tour now, playing some of the best small clubs in the country. Tour Schedule
